Argia Zecchel

Argia passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, at the Royal Columbian Hospital. Born in Camalo, Treviso, Italy on September 14, 1936, Argia spent most of her youth not exploring further than Treviso when she rode her bike to work. She was also a nanny to three children. It was during this time that she met the love of her life Enrico, who was from Canada visiting family, and after a short courtship she decided to take the big step and move to Canada at 20 years of age to marry Enrico. Argia and Enrico shared 56 years of marriage and undying love. Mom lovingly raised Gary, Brian (Linda) and Lorena (Derrick) and provided the best possible opportunity for her kids. Mom was proud of the legacy she left behind and couldn’t get enough of her grandchildren, Ryan, Deanne, Jason, Allyssa, Amanda and Mathew, cooking their favorite Italian dishes, Risotto and Pasta, for our many, many, family dinners. Mom adored her great grandchildren Lukas, Asher, Elenore, Juniper, Josef and Sloane. Her face just lit up every time she was around them. She is predeceased by her loving husband Enrico, her son Brian, her parents Pietro and Anna, her siblings Marino, Arcangelo and Luigi. She will be missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sister Silvana (Mario) and her sister-in-law Elenore. Prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 18, 2025, followed by the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday February 19, 2025, at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish, 244 Lawrence St., New Westminster. Entombment will be held at Ocean View Cemetery, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Society British Columbia.
