It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Antonio Rinaldo, a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was born in Chiarano, Treviso, Italy on October 27, 1940, and passed away on May 14, 2020, in Vancouver after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.  Antonio joins in heaven his son Valter, his parents Lucia and Luigi, and his brother Egidio.

He is survived by the love of his life, Giorgina, with whom he spent 54 happy years.  They had a rare kind of love that is seldom seen in this world.  He will be forever remembered by his children Sonia (Bruno), Lucia (Marco), Roberta (Mark), daughter-in-law Katarina, and his grandchildren Isabella, Sofia, Lorenzo, Marina, Anthony, Dominik, Daniela, Elliot, and Owen.  He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings Bortolo (Lucia), Augusta, Elisa (Gino), Angelina (Franco), sister-in-law Bruna, and cousin Luigi (Flora), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Antonio was a humble, gentle, kind man. He was grateful for the blessings in his life.

His passions were gardening, watching sports, winemaking, going for walks, and doing household chores with his wife.  He had a deep love of music and singing brought him much joy.  He sang in the Italian Choir of BC and the OLS Italian church choir.

Antonio was devoted to his family, who meant everything to him.  He was always there to offer support and guidance to his children and grandchildren.  He doted on all 9 of his grandchildren from watching their sporting events, picking them up from school, playing cards, or teaching them to drive. He was very hardworking and had wonderful energy which drew people to him.   Antonio will be dearly missed, and his family will hold him in their hearts forever.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Vancouver on Friday, May 22nd.  Private Entombment will follow at Ocean View Burial Park South Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Canadian Mental Health Association, a charity close to Antonio’s heart.
