Antonietta was born in Orvinio, Italy March 1st, 1933 and peacefully passed away May 28th,2020 in Vancouver, BC at the age of 87.

Antonietta will be missed by her son Marco, daughter-in-law Bianca, grandson Marcangelo and her daughter Stella, grandchildren Brandon, Bianca, Justin and Kevin; Her sisters Caterina (Augusto), Nunzi+ and Adriana, nieces, nephews, many family members and dear friends.

Antonietta immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1957, where she married Peter Zanatta and embraced the Canadian dream where she created a successful life.

She worked at some of Vancouver's finest restaurants. And, alongside with her son and daughter, later opened ‘Antonet’s Italian Restaurant’.  She dabbled in real estate and enjoyed an abundant life.

She was a community-minded person with a big Spirit, a Lifetime Honorary member of the Italian Cultural Center receiving the 2016 Immigrant of the Year Award. In her neighbourhood, she loved to attend the Kitsilano Show Boat and you would often find her volunteering in selling programs. The BC Children's Hospital and BC Cancer Society were charitable organizations that were close to her heart.

She was a member and competitive player at the Italian Bocce Society, winning numerous tournaments. She loved travelling the world and attending events where she would be seen enjoying herself on the dance floor.

She handled life’s challenges with great dignity, grace and optimism.   With a smile on her face, her favorite quote was  "Take life the way it comes”.

To know her was to love her and to be touched by her enthusiasm for life.

Private Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 4th at 11am (recording viewable at https://www.legacystreaming.com/kearney/). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Michael Cuccione Foundation  www.childhoodcancerresearch.org  would be appreciated.
