It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Anthony (Tony) Acheson, a caring, thoughtful, kind individual. Tony is survived by his son Greg, daughter Barbara and son Bruce (Ivy) and six grandchildren. Also, missing him is long time, special friend, Claire. Tony was born in Calgary, AB but moved to Vancouver at an early age. He attended Magee Secondary School and was a commerce graduate at UBC. Tony started his career as an investment adviser soon after UBC and then joined Odlum Brown in 1970 where he retired in 2010. Tony was passionate about sports, travel, reading and Gossip Island. Tony fought a long battle with diabetes and related health issues. Tony’s family wishes to acknowledge the care and comfort given to him by all the Doctors & Staff at VGH. Thanks to the staff at Purdy Pavilion 1 for the care during his short stay and a big Thank You to the Shoppers Drug Mart team at 4th & Vine. A private ceremony will be held in his honour. In lieu of flowers, donations to the VGH Foundation or BC Diabetes would be appreciated
