Anni Erna Neroth (nee Andreas) passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024. She is predeceased by her husband Rudy Neroth, and sister Barbara Clapham. Anni will be lovingly remembered by her children Angie (Rob), Brigitta, and Bill (Cindy), her brother Claus (Shirley), her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their families, and her many dear friends.
Born in Hannover, Germany, Anni emigrated with her family to Canada in 1953 at age 16. It was there in Winnipeg, Manitoba that she met her husband, Rudy. They moved to beautiful Vancouver, BC to start their family. There she raised three strong, independent children, first in Kitsilano and later New Westminster, sharing with them her unconditional love and also her culture, German language, and an appreciation for delicious German cuisine.
Anni (or Omi, as she was lovingly known by her grandchildren and all their friends) moved to Port Moody to be closer to her grandchildren. She was a fixture in their lives, ensuring we all knew how much we were loved and cared for. Anni was creative and an avid crafter: knitting, cross-stitching, ceramics, and much more. Her family and friends enjoyed the lovingly hand-made gifts she would share. She was a familiar face in her neighborhood, friendly with everyone she would meet on her daily walks with her little dog. She was a happy person, quick to laugh and quicker to lend a hand. We are forever grateful for the love, joy and friendship she shared with us all.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated January 30th, 10:30am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Westminster, BC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation – Eagle Ridge Manor, Long Term Care.
