Anne Butler
(nee' McNaughton)
1928 - 2018

It is with a great sense of peace and love we acknowledge the death of Catherine Anne Butler, Sunday morning January 28th. Her fierce independence kept her gardening and living in the home, built by her and her deceased husband Ed Butler, to beyond her 89th birthday. Her family was everything to her. She and her siblings Archie (her twin), Alex, Patricia (also twins), Movana and Sally were remarkable souls in that their Dad died when they were young and with their Mom they weathered the demands together. She is survived by her sisters Movana and Sally and the extended families of all. Anne and Ed’s children Sean (Elaine), Jim (Cathy), Ed (Michelle) and Eileen (Grant), 14 grandchildren and a great-grandson. Extended family surrounded her with love and thanks in her final days. Her deep Catholic faith and Irish heritage was an integral part of who she was. Thanks to Dr. Aiken for many years of attentive health care that allowed her to remain independent as long as possible. Our thanks also to the team at BGH-4WB and Dr. Kugyelka for exceptional care at the end. Service at 11:00 am Thursday, February 1 at St. Michael’s, 9387 Holmes Street, Burnaby. Prayers Wednesday, January 31st at 8:00 pm.
