Ann passed away peacefully on January 28, 2023, in her 83rd year. She lived a long and interesting life. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, she took her nursing training at Western General Hospital and graduated in 1962. She took Midwifery training at Beckenham Maternity and Paddington General Hospitals in London, England and from there, travelled to Malta to work at Blue Sisters Hospital. She worked for several years in South Africa before emigrating to Canada in 1968. She spent the remainder of her career working first at Vancouver General then at BC Women & Children’s Hospital.
Ann was predeceased by her husband, Milan Sever in 2010. They travelled the world together and Ann will be laid to rest next to him. Although Ann loved children, she was never a mother herself. Throughout the span of her career, she mothered many. Once a nurse, always a nurse. Ann had a gift for caring for others and did as long as she was able. She loved music and she loved to dance. Never one to sit for long, if she wasn’t walking, she was dancing. She was a lovely soul and will be missed by many. She leaves to mourn her brother Iain.
Thanks to Dr Lebl and the staff of Amica White Rock for the excellent care they provided Ann these last three years of her life. Services and celebration will be held at Gardens of Gethsemani, 15694 32 Ave, Surrey, BC on February 10, 2023 @ 11 am followed by a Funeral Tea at Amica White Rock, 15333 16th Ave, Surrey, BC.
