ABBOTSFORD – Angèle Marie Jeannette Legal (née Jolicoeur) passed away peacefully with family at her side at the age of 79 on February 28, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Lovingly survived by her six children – Liliane (Denis), Henri (Tracey), Mariette (Robert), Daniel (Nicole), Louise, and Jocelyne (Jeff), her 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grand-children. Also left to mourn are her brothers and sisters, Lucienne (Éphrème), Raymond, Anne-Marie (Roger), Maurice (Dolorès), Suzanne (Roland), as well as Michel’s brothers and sisters, Louis (Aline), Claire (Aurèle), Marie-Rose (Roland, deceased), Lucienne (Frank), Claude (Irma), Jean, Paul (Marie-Louise), Gerard, and Gilberte (Lee), along with many relatives and friends.

Angèle was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years Michel who lost his own battle with cancer just 11 weeks earlier, her parents Émile and Flore, parents-in-law Henri and Marie Anne, her son-in-law Victor (Louise), great-grand-daughter Felicity, siblings Eloi (Anna), Roger (Jeanine) who so sadly passed away mere hours after Angèle, her two siblings in infancy Félix and Lorraine, and Michel’s sisters Germaine (Albert, deceased), Yvonne (Lucien, deceased), and Céline (Roger).

In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Angèle had unwavering faith in God. She is remembered for her charity work and artistic endeavours, including sewing, crochet, oil painting, and especially quilting. Michel and Angèle travelled extensively to visit friends and family, making a point to be present at family milestones no matter the distance.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Holmberg House of The Abbotsford Hospice Society, for their exceptional care and compassion.

Prayers and Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann Parish, 33333 Mayfair Ave, Abbotsford, Friday March 6th at 10 and 11 a.m. respectively.
