Angela Mae Spanjers

“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day… unseen, unheard, but always near, 
still loved, still missed and very dear.” 

Angela will be sadly missed by her loving husband Glen, her cherished children, Emily and Liam, her special aunt, Mary, her treasured in-laws, Suzanne and Henry, her dear sister and brother, Katie and Billy, her many beloved brothers and sisters-in-law, niece and nephews, her much loved extended circle of family, friends and colleagues and, of course, her dogs, Ruby and Bruce. 

Angela’s circle was wide both personally and professionally and we invite all of you to join us in celebrating her wonderful life on Saturday, March 8th, 2025:

Viewing at 1:00pm 
Funeral Mass at 2:00pm 
Reception to follow at Newlands Golf & Country Club, 21025 48th Ave, Langley.

Angela first joined the YBC Foundation Board in 2015 and served until her 2024 resignation due to health concerns. Under her leadership as Chair, the YMCA of Greater Vancouver Foundation advanced its mandate of investment and legacy giving. Angela did not let her health take away from her commitment and passion for the YMCA. 

In honour of her memory, the YBC Foundation has approved the establishment of the Angela Spanjers Youth Fund, which will support YMCA BC's youth programing with a focus on female leadership.
