It is with great sadness that we share the news that Andrew passed away at Peace Arch Hospital at the age of 68. Originally from Hereford, England, he spent most of his adult life in Canada - Toronto, then Vancouver.
Andrew will be dearly missed by his wife Kathy, daughter Tyla, grandsons Carsyn and Cooper, sister Janet (Earl) and many nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his father Doug, his mother Eileen (Capes) and his sister Susan.
Through his life Andrew (aka Andy or Chris) was an avid athlete. He raced bicycles and motorcycles, ran marathons and completed many triathlons including the Hawaii Ironman. He competed all over Canada and the USA. His career as a farrier fulfilled his love of horses and his keen interest in their welfare. A certified journeyman farrier, he also competed in many horseshoeing competitions. In his later years he spent his time playing darts and driving and detailing his beloved cars. With such varied interests, he leaves behind many wonderful friends. Though his health struggles were many, he put up a brave front and was always ready for a good laugh. Rest In Peace Andrew.
In lieu of flowers please donate to Peace Arch Hospital or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The journey continues...
