Andrew Brendan Troughton died peacefully in his sleep at home on Sunday Jan. 22, 2023. For many years, Andrew, “Drew”, “Andy” fought a courageous battle with cancer. Although the journey was never easy, his attitude toward his diagnosis always was. Born to parents Gary Ellis and Brenda Catherine Troughton in 1979, Drew grew up in Vancouver and eventually ended up in New Westminster with his sister Steph and family. His brother Tom and family Tracey, Jasmine, Scott and Alex were an important part of Drew’s life who never missed an opportunity to speak about their adventures together. Other friends and family members including Linda Watson, Mary Elliott, Cindy Watson and Brigitte and Ben Bergeron, and those not named here, were equally as special to him. Of all the jobs Drew undertook in his life including raffle ticket seller at Vancouver Canucks games, his role as café attendant at the Broadway and Cambie Starbucks store was his favorite. Drew talked about Robert, the store manager and crew fondly and was very proud of the inclusive and welcoming work environment they built together. A Celebration of Life and reception will be held at Immaculate Conception Parish, 3778 West 28th Ave, Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider making a donation to the BC Cancer Agency .
