This force of nature, formidable some say, is now contemplating her next adventure. She was diligent, dependable, intelligent and unstoppable. Through example she taught us to be responsible, hardworking, learners who value the love of family above all. At 96, energy to heal depleted, but feisty and aware till the end, she passed into another realm. Her true joy was demonstrated in her playfulness with her great-grandchildren!  Her lessons we have all absorbed, particularly that of social justice, this is her legacy. She played a central role, along with the committee, in organizing and recovering some of the funds lost in the failure of the Teachers’ Investment and Housing Co-op. Predeceased by Bill, her husband of 65 years and son Jim, she is survived by her children Tom (Rajeev), Carol, Marian (Keith), Margaret (Roger), and Anne as well as many nieces and nephews, 2 sisters, 7 grandchildren and 5 beloved great-grandchildren.  Special thanks for the able and compassionate care she received at Royal City Manor and Royal Columbian Hospital.  Funeral in Castlegar, St. Rita’s church, Saturday, October 13th at 10:30 a.m., Interment and reception following.  In memoriam donations can be made to Development and Peace in care of www.devp.org
