Albert Peng Lam Tan, age 68, passed away after a sudden illness Friday, August 30th at Royal Columbian Hospital. Born in 1951 in Singapore, he migrated to Canada with his wife and children in 1992. Albert’s generosity shone in his passion for cooking for others and meticulous home renovations for the comfort of his family. He was an avid traveler, having visited more than 50 countries, and especially loved to take vacations with his family. His wonderful sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Maria Ong; his children and their spouses, Nicholas and Laurel Tan, Pamela and John Mennella, Dena Tan and Jason Carroll; his brother Peng Jin Tan and his spouse Yit Wah Tan, his sisters, Hui Keng Tan, and Hui Sian Tan and her spouse Peter Ting; mother-in-law, Agnes Lim; brother-in-law, Paul Ong and his spouse Jeannie Koh and his sister-in-law, Florence Ong and her spouse Keith Wong. He is also remembered by his nephews, nieces and many friends.
If you wish to pay your respects, please join us for a closed casket viewing at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5th ,2019 at Our Lady of Assumption Parish at 3141 Shaughnessy St. in Port Coquitlam, BC.
