It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Fitterer after a long and heroic battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Linda, his two children, Aaron (Miriam) and Jennine (Greg), his three grandchildren, Aidan, Avery and Jocelyn and his brother, Pete (Doe) as well as many other family and friends.
Al was born June 16, 1950 in Prelate, Saskatchewan. At a young age, he moved to Burnaby, BC on the farm on Hastings Street. After that, he moved to East Vancouver where he grew up and attended John Oliver Secondary School while working at Knight Motors. After high school, he was a foreman for Hayes Trucks and then went on to Firestone. From there, he went on to Bogardus Wilson, Pacific Brewers and then Trophy Foods. He finished off his career at Mountain Equipment Co-op as Senior Manager of Logistics.
Al always loved a good ribbing and developed the “Book of Al”. He was always present at all the grandkid's functions and loved watching football. Also, he loved to travel across the United States and had his own political views.
He will be greatly missed and deeply loved by all his family and friends.
