The Opportunity:

The Funeral Director position requires a high level of compassion and a caring individuals who enjoys helping others.

We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, who enjoy working with and helping people. The ideal candidate will be very organized, have a high sense of urgency, the ability to multitask with a pleasant demeanor. Must be proficient in English both spoken and verbal (other languages an asset) and be able to perform physical requirements of the job.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
  • Have experience in all types of Funeral related services (Arranging, coordinating of services held in Chapel, Church, Memorial, Visitation, Reception/Catered events, Burial, Cremation, Entombment, Minimum Cremation needs)
  • Excel in both written and verbal English communication (other languages an asset)
  • Be naturally empathetic
  • Be remarkably organized with the ability to manage time efficiently yet effectively
  • Be able to complete the physical demands of the job
  • Be dedicated, caring and service driven
  • Have a good demeanor and professional outlook
  • Be an excellent communicator and team player
  • Hold themselves to a high standard of service
  • Build excellent relationships with families and within the community

  • Have a Class 5 drivers license with a clean driving record

A BC Funeral Directors license is preferred, however for the right candidate, we will facilitate licensing transfer requirements.

Funeral Attendant and Support Staff

  • Assisting funeral directors in the process of carrying out bereavement rights and disposition
  • Assisting the funeral directors in both service preparation and post service duties
  • Cleaning service vehicles
  • Driving service vehicles (including Coach, Limousine, Flower Van)
  • Transporting decedents from Funeral Home to Services then onto cemetery or crematorium
  • Assisting with transfers from hospitals/care homes/residences
  • Assisting with other duties as required

An eligible candidate will:

The Opportunity:

The Operations Manager position requires a high level of compassion and a caring individual who enjoys helping others.

This person must be a team player who leads by example, and challenges others to better fulfill their roles. Someone who comes to work with a great attitude and inspires others to do the same. This position requires leadership capabilities and a good set of funeral director experiences and skills. This person must also be capable of working with, instructing and encouraging Apprentice Funeral Directors to reach their full potentials personally and in their roles as Funeral Service Professionals.

The Eligible Candidate will:

  • Have held a Funeral Directors License for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Have experience in Management or possess an excellent leadership track record.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Build, work in and develop a cohesive team both within a specific location and companywide.
  • Possess an excellent work ethic, ensuring goals and deadlines are met and standards are kept high.
  • Always act with honesty and integrity, indifferent of situation or position.
  • Have an exceptional ability to work with and develop team members; including coaching, constructive feedback and reviews.
  • Be passionate about Funeral Service and providing high quality service for the families we serve and can convey this passion to the team and across the company.

Job Description

  • Leading a team of dedicated funeral professionals.
  • Running and planning, staff meetings; training and development meetings; daily check-ins as well as daily and weekly scheduling and staff allocation.
  • Overseeing all operations of the location to ensure the highest level of standards with respect to service delivery, building upkeep and maintenance (including capital expenditures) and overall efficiency of operation.

  • The Licensed Embalmer position requires a high level of compassion and a caring individual who enjoys working on their own and with a team. We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, who enjoy working with and helping families.
  • Must be proficient in English both spoken and verbal (other languages an asset) and be able to perform physical requirements of the job. Duties may include:
  • Cares for deceased in a respectful manner while performing a variety of tasks which include: verifying identification and embalming authorization; performing restorations; completing removals and transfers; dressing, styling hair and or applying cosmetics, and; any other preparation required for human remains
  • Adheres to all applicable professional, municipal, provincial and federal licensing authority regulations Assists with maintenance of preparation room and the facility
  • Cleans soiled equipment and hazardous material spills
  • Ensures hazardous materials and spills are handled in accordance with the • Material Data Safety Sheets • Assists with chemical and supply inventory
  • Receives caskets and other funeral home supplies
  • Promotes a safe work environment by being aware of and practicing general principles of safe conduct

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Have a current embalming license and 2 years’ experience as an embalmer • Have good demeanor and professional outlook
  • Be an excellent communicator and team player • Hold themselves to a high standard of service
  • Be empathetic and compassionate Will be physically capable of standing for long period • Be able to comfortably lift 50-75 lbs
  • Have a Class 5 drivers license with a good driving record
